Jinki, a robotic being, was created by an advanced civilization somewhere in the galaxy.
they were part of a group of protogens, some kind of robots with animal-like features.
their purpose was to explore the universe and gather information about other planets.

However, during one of their missions, their ship malfunctioned, and they had to eject.
They crash-landed in the middle of Kurondo Nature Park, a nature park close to Osaka, Japan.
A fall like this would've been fatal, But Jinki's fall was luckily cushioned by the trees and bushes.

The crash damaged their memory, which caused them to forget who they were and what their mission was.
Jinki was wandering around the park after waking up, trying to make sense of their new surroundings.
After some time a few friends found Jinki, alerted by the sounds of the robot's malfunctioning systems.
At first the they were cautious, but after seeing the robot's harmless nature, they decided to help.

The group knew that the robot was hurt, because of the noises and the way they were moving.
They took them back to their workshop in the city, where they could try to repair them.
The robot was hesitant at first, especially after seeing all the weird machines and tools.
But soon after, they realized that the group wanted to help them, and they calmed down.
They realized quickly that it was going to be much harder to repair them than they thought.
The robot's systems were so advanced, that the group had never seen anything like it before.
They managed to fix most of it, except for the memory damage and more advanced features.

The group offered the robot to stay with them, and they accepted, as they had nowhere else to go.
They first had to find a way to communicate, as the robot couldn't speak any human language.
They started by showing them basic symbols and sounds, and they quickly learned to understand them.
Even though the robot couldn't speak, they could communicate through writing and simple sounds.
After learning the basics they group decided to finally give a name to the mysterious robot.
They thought of a name for a bit, and came up with "Jinki", which means: "Divine Machine".

Jinki was very grateful for the group's help, and wanted to repay them in any way they could.
The group asked them if they wanted to help them with their musical projects, and they accepted.
They were very interested in the noise music the group was making, and wanted to learn more about it.
After Jinki started making their own music, the group modified Jinki a bit, adding a few new features.
